When Aaron Judge arrived with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a prospect in 2013, he’d already known Samantha Bracksieck for years. They met at Linden High School in Linden, California, and both continued their studies at Fresno State, where she specialized in kinesiology while he developed his path toward the majors. Nearly a decade after that first encounter in high school, they married on December 11, 2021, in a private ceremony in Maui, Hawaii.

A Career in Baseball Biomechanics

Samantha Bracksieck is more than just a ballplayer’s wife: she’s a kinesiologist specializing in throwing biomechanics in baseball. In 2017, while pursuing her master’s degree at Fresno State, she won the university’s top graduate project award for her innovative thesis on elbow angle during the throwing motion and its relationship to ulnar collateral ligament injury risk in pitchers. Her research tackled one of the most critical issues in baseball sports medicine: how to prevent career-ending injuries.

This academic work positioned her as a serious professional in a field where biomechanical expertise is increasingly valued across Major League organizations. Her specialty—understanding how a pitcher’s body gets injured and how to prevent it—is exactly the kind of expertise that teams like the New York Yankees seek in their medical and performance departments.

Aaron Judge: From Prospect to MVP

Aaron Judge was drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2013 draft. After years in the minor leagues, he debuted in the majors in 2016 and quickly became a star. In 2022, he won the American League MVP award after hitting 62 home runs, breaking the American League record that had stood for 61 years. Through 2024, Judge remained one of the most feared hitters in the majors.

His relationship with Samantha developed in parallel with his rise in professional baseball, maintaining a connection that began in the classrooms of Linden High School and strengthened during their university years at Fresno State.

Building a Life Together Since 2021

After marrying in December 2021, the couple began their married life while Aaron Judge solidified his dominance at Yankee Stadium. In January 2025, they welcomed their first daughter, marking a new chapter in their lives. The combination of her career in specialized kinesiology and her role as the wife of one of modern baseball’s greatest hitters places Samantha in a unique position: someone who deeply understands the biomechanics of the sport her husband dominates on the field.
