Background

Professional Career
In his rookie season, Meidroth slashed .253 with 5 home runs, 23 RBI, 54 runs scored, and a .649 OPS. The number that stood out most? 14 stolen bases — a clear sign that his speed was his biggest weapon in year one.
The leap from 2025 to 2026 was significant. Meidroth raised his average to .274, hit 11 home runs, drove in 46 runs, scored 67 times, and posted a .754 OPS. The power numbers climbed, though his stolen base total dipped to just 2 — a shift that reflects a more settled, production-focused approach at the plate.

Awards and Recognition
Meidroth hasn’t collected individual hardware yet — no Gold Gloves, no All-Star nods, no MVP votes. His career is still in its early stages, and the focus right now is on cementing his role on both sides of the ball in Chicago.
Worth Noting
His 14 stolen bases in 2025 were the headline of his debut season — not his bat. For a young player still finding his footing in the big leagues, that kind of baserunning threat is a real asset. It’s a reminder that in modern baseball, speed still matters, especially for a 23-year-old with room to grow in every other area of his game.
