Background
Quiroz grew up in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, and developed through Mexican baseball before grinding his way up through the minor leagues. He finally got his shot on September 17, 2022, when the Cubs called him up — a moment that capped years of persistence. As a left-handed hitter who throws right, he has shown the flexibility to fill multiple roles on the field.
After his brief MLB stint, Quiroz returned to Mexican winter ball, where he has found consistent playing time and a stage to remind everyone what he can do with a bat in his hands.
Professional Career
In his 2022 MLB debut with Chicago, Quiroz hit .275 with 3 RBI, 3 runs scored, 1 stolen base, and an OPS of .645 in limited action. Small sample, but he made contact and showed he belonged.
Since then, his career has been rooted in the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico, where he has suited up for the Tomateros de Culiacán, Algodoneros de Guasave, and now the Águilas de Mexicali. That’s where his best baseball has happened.
Winter Ball Standout
The 2024-25 LMP season was Quiroz’s finest on paper. In 61 games with Culiacán, he slashed .263/.943 OPS with 12 home runs and 38 RBI — numbers that made him one of the most dangerous bats in the league that winter.
Now with Mexicali in the 2026-27 campaign, he is off to a scorching start: through just 9 games, he is hitting .235 with 4 home runs and 12 RBI, posting an OPS of .975. The power is very much still there.

Worth Knowing
At 34, Quiroz is still one of the more productive third basemen in the LMP. His story mirrors that of many Mexican players who touch the majors and then carve out long, meaningful careers back home — staying competitive, staying relevant, and continuing to be a force in professional baseball on their own terms.
