Randy Arozarena Leads the AL With 103 Runs Scored — a New Career Best
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Randy Arozarena has scored 103 runs in the 2026 season — a career high and the best mark in the American League. The number beats his previous personal best of 95, set with Tampa Bay in 2023. He’s doing it in Seattle, on a team that won’t see October, with free agency waiting at the end of the tunnel.

The Number Nobody Else Has in the AL

Heading into the final week of the regular season as an offensive category leader in the American League is no small thing. Arozarena got there with 103 runs scored across 145 games and 630 plate appearances — eight more than his previous career best. No other AL player has matched that total in 2026.

There’s a notable Latin backdrop to the leaderboard: until two weeks ago, the top three spots in AL runs scored were all held by Cuban-born players — Miguel Vargas, Yordan Álvarez, and Arozarena himself. Randy made his move down the stretch and claimed the top spot.

A Streak That Puts Him Next to Barry Bonds

The 103 runs aren’t the only historic number Arozarena put up in 2026. On August 23, he became the first Cuban-born player to complete six consecutive seasons with at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in MLB — a streak that started in 2021. Historically, only Barry Bonds (9 seasons) and Bobby Abreu and Bobby Bonds (7 each) have done it longer.

His full 2026 slash line — .278/.375/.851, 25 home runs, 75 RBI, and 23 stolen bases — makes him one of the most complete hitters in the game. September only added to the case: over the first 12 games of the month, he hit .298 with four home runs, 13 RBI, and an OPS approaching .990.

According to Statcast, Arozarena averages 90.8 mph exit velocity — 80th percentile across all of MLB — with an xwOBA of .346 that confirms the quality of contact is real. This isn’t luck. He hits the ball hard and hits it well.

All-Star Numbers, No Postseason

The paradox of his 2026 is impossible to ignore. The Seattle Mariners are out of Wild Card contention and won’t be playing in October. Arozarena leads the team with a 4.3 WAR, but his individual brilliance wasn’t enough to lift Seattle into the playoff picture.

And on top of all that, free agency is here. When the season ends, Arozarena hits the open market. His 103 runs, his historic 20/20 streak, and his Statcast profile become the strongest possible argument heading into the winter market. Rarely does a season this individually brilliant come with so little to celebrate on the team side — but the numbers are already written in the books.
