Baseball5 is a fast, simplified version of baseball, played five against five with nothing but a rubber ball. No bat, no glove, no complex gear: you hit the ball with your hand and take off running.
How you play
It’s played on a small square field, and each game lasts 5 innings. The batter strikes the ball with an open or closed hand and runs the bases just like in baseball. Because it needs almost no equipment, it can be played on any street, patio or court.
A sport on the rise
The WBSC created Baseball5 to grow the game in cities and among young people, and it’s already been part of the Youth Olympic Games. Its low cost makes it ideal for Latin America, where kids have always played improvised versions of baseball in the street. It’s the sport in its purest, most accessible form.
