The Liga Mexicana de Béisbol (LMB) is Mexico’s professional summer league. It plays from April to September and is one of the country’s two big circuits, alongside the winter Pacific League.
How it works
The LMB features clubs from all over Mexico, split into North and South zones, and crowns a champion each year. It’s a Triple-A affiliated league, one of the highest rungs in the minor-league system, so its level is high and it serves as a springboard toward MLB.
A century of tradition
Founded in 1925, the LMB is 100 years old, making it one of the oldest leagues in Latin America. Teams like the Diablos Rojos del México draw huge crowds, and plenty of Mexican big leaguers came up through its rosters.
