Yeifry Moranci: The 13-Year-Old Dominican Who Runs a 6.7-Second 60-Yard Dash and Is Already on MLB Radars

Yeifry Moranci is 13 years old, plays center field, and already has a date circled on his calendar: October 19–24, 2026, in Medellín, Colombia, at the NewConcept & WilberData showcase. The number that turns heads: he runs the 60-yard dash in 6.7 seconds — a time plenty of 16- and 17-year-old prospects would love to own.

What the Medellín Showcase Is and Why It Matters

Latin American youth baseball showcases are nothing new, but Medellín hosting an event of this scale is. NewConcept & WilberData is billing it as the biggest showcase the city has ever seen, and Moranci’s name is front and center on the invite list as one of the faces of his generation.

A little context: the Class of 2030 refers to players who will be eligible to sign with MLB organizations around that year, when they turn 16. The fact that a prospect from that class is already drawing attention at regional events at age 13 says a lot about how early the development pipeline now moves.

The Number That Defines Moranci Right Now

The 60-yard dash is the standard speed benchmark in youth baseball scouting. For reference, anything under 6.9 seconds is already considered strong at the younger age levels. A 6.7 at age 13 puts Moranci in the conversation for a 70 grade on the traditional 20-to-80 scouting scale — the top end for speed.

Speed isn’t the only tool that matters for a center fielder, of course. Arm strength, route efficiency, and bat-to-ball skills all factor in. But speed is the tool that translates most cleanly into a concrete number at this age — and right now, that number works in Moranci’s favor.

Why You Should Start Paying Attention Now

The Dominican Republic consistently produces some of the most coveted prospects on the international market. The Class of 2030 is still four years away from signing eligibility, but scouts keep their lists updated long before that window opens. A showcase with a radar gun and a stopwatch — exactly like the one in Medellín — is precisely where those lists get revised.

Moranci doesn’t yet have league stats or a full-season line to report. At 13, that level of organized baseball simply doesn’t exist for his age group. What does exist is Yeifry Moranci on a showcase field with a clock running, and that’s enough for his name to start making the rounds. Come October 19, we’ll know a little more.
