MLB Career
Brooks’s path through the majors has been defined by flashes of promise and the constant challenge of sticking on a roster. In 2022 with the St. Louis Cardinals, he posted a 7.71 ERA over 9.1 innings — a tough stretch that illustrated how thin the margin for error is at this level. Two years later with the Oakland Athletics in 2024, he showed improvement: a 5.06 ERA over 26.2 innings, with 12 strikeouts and a 1.54 WHIP. His 2026 stint with the Tampa Bay Rays was brief — just one-third of an inning — a reminder of how competitive the big league landscape remains.

Finding His Groove in the Dominican Winter League
While the big league door has been hard to keep open, Brooks has found real stability in LIDOM with the Toros del Este. In the 2025–26 season, he was one of the team’s most reliable arms: 2.81 ERA over 32 innings, 3 wins, and 27 strikeouts across 8 appearances. That kind of performance doesn’t go unnoticed.
In the current 2026–27 campaign, his workload has been lighter — 3 innings, a 3.00 ERA, and 3 strikeouts in one outing — but he remains active and sharp. For Brooks at 36, winter ball isn’t a consolation prize; it’s a legitimate stage to stay ready and stay on the radar.
