Winter Ball: A Different Story
The real headline right now is what Reyes is doing in the Dominican Republic. Through just six games in the 2026-27 LIDOM season with the Gigantes del Cibao, he’s slashing .333 with 2 home runs, 6 RBI and a 1.176 OPS. That’s a massive leap from his previous winter campaign with the same club — .188 AVG and a .507 OPS across 24 games in 2025-26.
Context matters: in 2023-24 with the Toros del Este, Reyes put up a .262 average with 4 home runs, 11 RBI and an .869 OPS in 19 games, showing that his winter ceiling is real. The current hot stretch looks like a man who has rediscovered his swing and his confidence.
LIDOM Career Stats
- 2026-27 — Gigantes del Cibao: 6 G | .333 AVG | 2 HR | 6 RBI | 1.176 OPS | 7 H
- 2025-26 — Gigantes del Cibao: 24 G | .188 AVG | 1 HR | 1 RBI | .507 OPS | 15 H

- 2023-24 — Toros del Este: 19 G | .262 AVG | 4 HR | 11 RBI | .869 OPS | 17 H
If Reyes keeps this up in Cibao, he’s either opening the door for another MLB shot or cementing himself as one of the most productive bats in the Caribbean winter circuit. Gigantes fans have reason to watch closely.
