Background
Elizalde grew up in the baseball-rich northwest of Mexico and eventually worked his way into affiliated ball, passing through the New York Mets organization. His best stretch in the minors came in 2018-19 with the Sultanes de Monterrey at the Triple-A level: in 54 games he hit .333 with 10 home runs and a .993 OPS — the kind of production that kept him on professional radar despite never reaching the big leagues.
Professional Career
Elizalde’s minor league path had its highs and lows. After that strong 2018-19 campaign, he landed with the Syracuse Mets in Triple-A in 2021, where he hit just .186 in 23 games — a clear low point. From there, he redirected his focus toward the LMP, suiting up for both the Tomateros de Culiacán and the Yaquis de Obregón.
