The final line for the 24-year-old Milwaukee right-hander: 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, 252 strikeouts in 174.2 innings — all in his first full season in the majors. The OPS against him was .472 and the slugging percentage allowed was .250, both the lowest marks of the 21st century, better even than Martínez’s 2000 numbers.

For context: Trevor Bauer allowed a .159 BAA in 2020, but that came in a pandemic-shortened 60-game season. Misiorowski’s record applies to full 162-game seasons with a minimum of 100 innings pitched.

The season was full of history-making moments. On September 8, Misiorowski became the first pitcher in MLB history to throw 1,000 pitches at 100 mph or faster in a single season. On September 27, he capped the regular season with 5.1 scoreless innings against the Cardinals — touching 102.7 mph on the fastball — in a 6-4 Milwaukee win that pushed the Brewers to their 103rd victory of the year.
